Following the resounding success of the weekend courses held in 2008, 2009 and 2010 – Ghislaine and her husband Michael Howard, a senior lecturer in the history of art at Manchester Metropolitan University, are planning three weekend events for 2011.
From Table To Easel
April 1 -3, 2011
Celebrate the twin pleasures of art and food through a programme of inspirational talks and practical workshops.
A Weekend with Rembrant and Vincent
April 15 – 17, 2011
Explore the live and working methods of these two intensely human artists.
A Date with Degas
14 – 16 October, 2011
Be inspired by the work, life and methods of this most innovative and radical of artists.
These will take place at the Ghislaine Howard Studio Gallery in Oak Street, Glossop [SK13 7AP].
Each course runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The cost includes all meals and materials: £295 residential, £225 non residential.
Each event includes workshops, informal illustrated talks and time in the studio. The emphasis will be on developing the individual’s own creative potential. The aim of each course is to encourage participants to develop, extend and consolidate their interests whether they are experienced artists or complete beginners. There are opportunities to work in the landscape, draw and paint the figure, make monotypes and etchings or simply to develop your already existing practice. The weekend’s activities are fueled by warm hospitality and energized by home-cooked food and fine wine.
As the courses are tailored to suit individual needs, places are limited.
