This group of works celebrates and records aspects of the more intimate moments of human life. In recording these ordinary, casual episodes of the everyday, a gesture or movement may suggest something that can be used as the basis for a more public work. One never knows when a twist of the head or a movement of a hand may suggest a sequence of ideas that can be used elsewhere.
Without being in any way programmatic, these works are traces, clearly marking the passing of my own existence. In the same kind of way as the snap shots in a family album record and celebrate any life. In some indefinable way, I feel they are necessary counterparts to the rather grander, more ambitious works that I feel drawn to create.
