The meeting was brutally dispersed. In the resulting debacle, at least 15 people were killed and between 400\u2013700 suffered injuries. The 200th anniversary of that event falls this year.<\/p>\n<p>Ghislaine Howard, who is well-known for her daily paintings taken from the contemporary news media (the 365 Series), felt compelled to produce a response to that historical event, hoping to avoid the many traps that await such a venture. Can oil paint still claim the authority that has now, it seems, been given over to film and all things digital?
