The body of work was first exhibited at Manchester Art Gallery before travelling to the Wellcome Collection in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developed in partnership with <strong>Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust,<\/strong> <em>The Labour of Care<\/em> brings together newly created artworks by healthcare professionals alongside works from the Whitworth&#8217;s internationally renowned collection, including Marina Abramovi\u0107, L.S. Lowry, Caroline Walker and Ghislaine Howard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition explores childbirth, compassion and the emotional resilience of those working on the frontline of maternal healthcare, celebrating the everyday acts of care that shape lives and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitors can experience <strong>The New Child<\/strong> as part of <em>The Labour of Care<\/em> at the Whitworth Art Gallery from <strong>1st August 2026 until 29th August 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Child<br \/>\nOil on canvas by Ghislaine Howard.
